Randomness

Two days ago I traded my surgical splint for a walking boot. I’m learning so much from this experience. Like, a walking boot is a partial misnomer. For the first two weeks in the boot I cannot put more than 18lbs of pressure on that foot. The boot itself weighs 4lbs so your net pressure is 14lbs. Just try and put only 14lbs of pressure on one of your feet. It means barely touching your toes to the ground. So, I’m still on crutches but with a boot that unbalances me. Or I’m on my knee trolley. For all its disadvantages the surgical splint was easier to walk with. It’s not all bad. I don’t have to sleep with the walking boot.

In my mind, I thought I would be walking in the boot sooner than two weeks from now. I thought I would have no need for interior photography. Not the case.

Here are some photos I took when I thought this would be my farewell post to my limited vantages. But, it is not all bad. The weather has broken somewhat so I have been able to sit out on our screened in porch for a bit each afternoon. I’ll take it.
