No surprise that dislocating your ankle and fracturing your tibia on Christmas Eve morning sucks. Being confined to one room downstairs on a pull-out daybed is no way to ring in the holiday. Worse, however, is having all your cameras except one in your loft, which is across an icy driveway and up a long steep set of stairs. The only camera with me? My Hasselblad X1D. Even my iPhone 6s is missing in action. No slouch is the X1D, but not exactly the camera for lying prone on a daybed. Frustrated, having looked forward to shooting the X1D on the island in all types of light, I of course have been shooting it from my doublewide couch while sitting in a semi-prone position.
What is the moral of this story? Well, if you love photography you will find a way to shoot no matter what. Or maybe it’s this: If you have your own website you can publish whatever photographs you damn well want based on any theme you contrive and call it all creative.
My bravo is probably just my pain meds.
The colorful reflections are from the Christmas Tree lights in the room across the hall.
