Not being sure what it is we see unsettles us. We are biased to need to resolve the world around us to make sense. Unfamiliar perspectives challenge us to see our world differently. They can also unsettle us.
Art is about upsetting our rutted perspectives. It uses unfamiliar perspectives to rattle us. Art strives to shake us awake from our Matrix like stupors. Whether acceptance or rejection what matters is, if even for a moment, we lost our balance.
