On the East side of the police station on East Grace street in Richmond, VA is this interesting sculpture by Michael Stutz: A bust of a police officer in uniform with a blue line running down the side of the building and through the center of the officer’s head. Sculpted from woven bands of steel, it is a powerful sculpture that seemingly languishes (or vanishes) in obscurity. I lived in Richmond for 12 years and never knew of it. I only discovered it a few weeks ago when staying at the Jefferson Hotel a few blocks away and on a cold overcast morning I strolled past it with my Hasselblad X1D.
