“The Shining” Examples of the X1D 50c.

Hallways in the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA.

The black and white tones and shades embedded in these larger files not to mention the resolution at higher ISO’s makes the X1D’s raw files fun to develop.

As for its ergonomics, well it is not without its challenges. Yes, the delayed startup time is annoying. Referring to its battery life is an oxymoron. The shutter sound is not inspiring, unless you find the sound of two paper clips being rubbed together particularly inspiring. The autofocus is temperamental, but I’m more a manual focus type of guy anyway. The biggest adjustment for me, however, are its slower lenses. Makes my predilection toward lower light photography a bit of a challenge.

Tomorrow will be day 15 of my 30 day trial. Still debating pros and cons.
